Work on your strengths Even stars need lesson
August 28, 2010 No CommentsEvery movie can not be a super-duper hit, and every hit movies are not good movies. Some of them makes deep impact, some lets you enjoy to the core, some make you think ‘not worth’. I have lessons to share based on star studded movie i saw yesterday “Expendables”.
“Work on your Strengths” So many management lessons has been derived from this 3 word statements, I have an example to reiterate. In one of the isaland school Tim, a sawrd fish and Tom, a rabbit were class mates. Tim can swim very fast, Tom can jump and run very fast. Inspired by toms speed jump, Tim has decided fast swimming alone is not enough and decided to learn “jumping and running”. It has joined a course, took secret tips from other animals, bought the same gears which tom wears. In the summer on final exam Tim was asked to compete with other sward fish groups, Poor Tim forgot how to swim and ended up loosing the game and failed in exam.
Movie star Stallone one of the legendry action hero in hollywood should have learnt a lesson from his director pitch in “Expendables”. It is stated to be a hit moview in collection, But not so hit for his standards. A moview packed with action sequences directed in worst possible camera angle and movie continuity. Like any other moview stallone is too good with his slow pich dialogue delivery and emotional movement. His so called superior heading the story is missing in “Expendable”. If directed by some one else acted by stallone and other action heroes, this moview could have been one of the best action movies you could ever watch. Better luck next time director stallone. Think about it, if a good for nothing movie like expendable can make box office top collection for two weeks imagine good one from star.
Each one of us need lesson and continuous improvement in life. We must work on our strengthens rather than trying to competing ourselves in unknown areas.
